Chilworth Technology brings together leading expert consultants in the field of process safety with GLP compliant laboratories to provide a single point of contact for your process safety needs. Our laboratories provide material properties data on, dust fire and explosion hazards, chemical reaction hazards and regulatory testing.
Our CPE team provide laboratory test data with expert Consultancy advice for the identification and assessment of exothermic reaction hazards, thermal stability screening, reaction calorimetry using Mettler RC1TM, adiabatic calorimetry, runaway simulation, engineering solutions and emergency vent design (DIERS methodology).
We can provide the complete range of physico-chemical tests and within the C3-B Alliance, toxicology, eco-toxicology and dossier preparation required for European regulatory purposes, notification of new substances (NONS), classification, packaging and labelling, Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS), Chemical Hazards Information and Packaging for Supply (CHIP) Regulations and Transport of dangerous goods.
The Chilworth Technology Group has tens of thousands of man-hours experience in process safety and has developed a range of specialist courses. Our aim is to assist companies in developing and promoting an understanding of hazard awareness in their workforce as well as providing technical knowledge on hazard and risk assessment and legal compliance.
Many powdered and liquid materials can ignite or explode under the right circumstances. 80% of organic based powders have the potential to explode if allowed to form a cloud in ordinary atmosphere and exposed to an ignition source. Chilworth can provide relevant safety data and specific advice on how to avoid incidents in the workplace.
Industrial processes can be hampered by the presence of static electricity in the form of poor powder flow, surface contamination and shocks to personnel. Electrostatic discharges can also trigger fires and explosions in the workplace. Chilworth offer consultancy and laboratory testing to identify the cause and provide a solution.
Chilworth Technology provide a one-stop solution for industry's Process Safety needs, offering consulting services founded on over a decade of extensive experience. Our Consultants are experts on explosion hazards and provide impartial guidance on explosion protection systems (venting, containment, suppression, inerting, isolation, etc.).
Chilworth Technology has a complete line of process safety test equipment for both R&D laboratories and on-site testing. Developed by our own engineers for use in our GLP compliant laboratories, these instruments are now available for use in your own testing facilities. A comprehensive equipment catalogue is available to download.
Many solids, liquids and gases are capable of exothermic reaction when exposed to elevated temperatures. Thermal instability hazards can be manifested in a range of ways including “black bits” in product after drying, yield decrease after prolonged reaction or drying times, etc. Chilworth can provide consultancy advice and test data to support thermal stability analysis.
